How to download public VK videos and clips

Choosing the best VK video quality
VK may offer several transcodes based on the original upload. Best available chooses the highest public rendition, while selected lower resolutions reduce file size.
Quality labels describe the height of the available video stream. A larger number can provide more detail, but it also creates a larger file and takes longer to download. For phones and everyday offline viewing, 720p is often a practical balance. Choose 1080p when it is offered and the extra detail matters.
Why might a VK download fail?
Private profiles, closed communities, login gates, deleted videos, rights restrictions, and region blocks cannot be bypassed by a public downloader.
